Screening of the documentary "Des arbres et des arts," directed by André Desrochers. This film delves into the heart of the Suroît forest, giving voice to majestic trees that reveal secrets and often little-known stories. It also highlights positive human actions aimed at protecting and enhancing the forest, while offering artists the opportunity to revive so-called "dead" trees.
Some scenes in the documentary were filmed at the wildlife refuge and the ecological center, demonstrating the richness of these protected areas.
The presentation is organized in partnership with Héritage Saint-Bernard and the City of Châteauguay, and is sponsored by the International Observatory for the Rights of Nature.
Duration: 90 minutes.
Free entry.
As part of Earth Day celebrations, a conference is being held to raise awareness about the threats coffee production poses to biodiversity. Coffee, the second most consumed commodity in the world after oil, is often linked to deforestation and the destruction of natural habitats due to its intensive cultivation. The conference will explore how Bird Friendly® certification can contribute to the preservation of ecosystems.
Presented by Brûlerie Totem, which supports this initiative in favor of coffee cultivation that respects wildlife and the environment.
Duration: 90 minutes, including coffee tasting.
Free.
In collaboration with the City of Châteauguay.
