About

Founded in 2006, Café de l’île is a year-round restaurant and boutique located on Île Saint-Bernard in Châteauguay. It is managed by Héritage Saint-Bernard, a non-profit organization whose mission is the protection and enhancement of natural environments, as well as the provision of educational and ecotourism activities.

As a social economy enterprise, Café de l’île promotes local products by developing sustainable partnerships with regional producers. Its primarily vegetarian menu highlights seasonal vegetables and local produce, with a focus on sustainable consumption, while also stimulating the local economy.

The profits generated by the Café de l’île and its shop are reinvested in the environmental mission of Héritage Saint-Bernard, namely in the conservation and education actions carried out by the organization, thus contributing to the organization’s environmental mission.

Where vegetarian rhymes with epicurean

The Café de l'île offers hikers a seasonal, primarily vegetarian menu that also features products from local businesses. Enjoy on-site or takeaway: soups, grilled cheese, veggie chili, luxury hot chocolates, a variety of cakes, and much more! Our beverages are prepared with Bird Friendly® certified coffee, a guarantee of quality and respect for biodiversity.

Boutique

Stop by our boutique where you'll find a multitude of Quebec products! Evolving and changing with the seasons, our boutique will invigorate the foodie and adventurer in you, guide your sustainable practices, and deepen your Quebec culture. All the products available are the result of wonderful local collaborations that deserve to be explored. Let yourself be charmed!
